Air Freight Booking

We reserve space for your cargo on a flight that suits your destination, your timing and your budget.

What it is

Air Freight Booking, in plain terms

Air freight booking means reserving cargo space with an airline for a specific shipment. The booking fixes the route, the flight and the rate. It also tells the airline what to expect: how many pieces, how heavy, how large, and what the goods are.

A good booking starts with accurate details. If the weight or size at the airport is different from what was booked, the airline can re-rate the shipment or move it to a later flight.

When you need it

Any time goods need to leave Sri Lanka by air. Book as early as you can. Space on busy routes fills up, and some goods need approval from the airline before they are accepted.

What we do

How we handle it

  1. Check routing options and rates for your shipment

  2. Send you a quote with the charges set out

  3. Book the space once you confirm

  4. Tell you when and where to deliver the cargo

  5. Stay with the shipment through to handover to the airline

Questions

Common questions

How are air freight charges calculated?

Airlines charge on chargeable weight, which is the greater of the actual gross weight and the volumetric weight. Volumetric weight is commonly worked out as length x width x height in centimetres, divided by 6,000, for each piece. Other charges, such as fuel and security surcharges, handling and documentation, may apply. We list them in your quote.

How far ahead should I book?

As early as you can. More notice gives us more choice of flights and rates. If your shipment is urgent, call or WhatsApp us and we will tell you what is possible.

Can you ship to any country?

It depends on airline routes and on the rules of the destination country. Ask us about yours.
